Connecting to IRC using the mirc client
1. What is MIRC?
mIRC is a shareware based chat client.
It is a chat program that connects to servers around the world to make up one complete network.

2. Sociolotron pre-configured mIRC.
Sociolotron has a shareware mirc install preconfigured to make your mIRC setup easy.
You can find the download at. http://www.sociolotron.com/download/mirc.zip
Save the file to your my documents folder
3. Uncompressing
Left click on the mirc.zip and use the extract feature.
If you do not have an extract option you can download a shareware program such as winrar, winace, or winzip.
most users find winzip more user friendly
After uncompressing run the setup.exe that was extracted from the mirc.zip

Following the instructions on the screens to install Sociolotron IRC.
4. Your Sociolotron IRC will be installed on the start - all programs - sociolotron
Listed as sociolotron IRC
5. Run the Sociolotron IRC from you all programs menu, or from the desktop shortcut that was also installed.
When you run Sociolotron IRC you will see a "spash" screen saying that the version is shareware.
Although the program mirc is shareware, nothing is locked out after your trial time expires.
After running the sociolotron IRC, you will be automaticly connected to the darktree IRC server.
6. Once connected to IRC you will see a screen prompting you for a username

If you hit ok, or cancel without entering a username. Your username will default to SocioGuest.
It will then finish connecting to IRC, and then automaticly join you to the #sociolotron IRC chat channel.
It's as easy as one, two, three!!
