Using IRC in game - Internet Relay Chat
1. Connecting to IRC using your Sociolotron game client.
Click on the Characters menu option in the upper left corner of the game client once you are logged into the game.
Click on IRC Settings.

2. The following screen should come up.
Click to view
Under settings enter a Username.
Do not use spaces, or special characters. a-z, and 0-9 only.
You do not need to enter anything for the password field.
Unless directed by a tech support representative, you should not change the default Primary IRC server, or the Secondary IRC server.
3. Connection field.
Click on the IRC On button, this will tell the client that you wish to connect to IRC with the game client.
Using IRC in the game will not effect your ability to talk to other users in the game.
The IRC chat is there to connect you to IRC in case you have any questions.
Making sure the IRC On button is pressed. Click the OK button to exit the IRC Settings window.
4. Exit the game and restart Sociolotron.
After reconnecting to the game server you should see text that looks similar to the pink text below.

Notice that the IRC option in the window is selected.
This tells the client that when you type something into the game. It is sent over to IRC.
If you wish to switch back to in game chat, select the Talk/Emote option. See more information in the chat section.
5. For those users who are using a seperate program such as mirc to log into the IRC chat server, they will see your text similar to image below.

Although you may not put a z_ in front of you name in the IRC settings of the chat client.
The game client automatically assigns a z_ to your name in the chat channel to indicate you are connected through the game client.
But through the game chat you will always see the name that you selected in the IRC Settings.
