Terminals are objects that connect a character to a community network. All kinds of special activity that don't make sense to be available anytime are made available through a terminal. When you stand next to a terminal and click it, you see a number of new Tabs in your action section in the top right of your client window. These Tabs are:
This page allows you to organize the contacts to other characters and use
those contacts to send messages to them they can read when they check the
terminal the next time or use these addresses in the
cell phone to contact them when they are
online.
In order to get a name into your address book, you enter the last name or part of the last name in the input field, then click request and after a while you see that all names that match your request are added to the list in the upper part of the window. You can remove unwanted entries by clicking on the name, then click Delete.
If you don't want to receive messages or phone calls from a character, select the name and click Block. To unblock a name you must delete and re-enter it.
Sometimes you will notice that a name has been replaced with UNKNOWN in your list. This happens when a character is deleted. You should remove those characters since they only use up space in your client.
The message window allows you to read short notes that have been send by
other characters, but it also informs you about important system events that
affect your character, for example when you have been elected into an office or
you have given birth to a child, or lost a child during birth.

The top list contains all messages that have been received by you or rather the first part of them. To read the complete message, click it and then click on the Show button. To delete a message, click it and click on the Delete button.
To send a message, first go to your address book, select the addressee, then return to this page, write the message in the lower window and click on Send. You can only send short messages of 512 characters.
The Elections Tab gives you access to all 3 phases of an
election.

During the Application phase, you can click on the office you want to run for in the upper left part, then click on Confirm to send out your application. You will receive either a confirmation or denial of your application if you don't match the requirements. You will automatically run in your home district which is shown in the top right part of the dialog under the Resign button. You can change your mind later and run for another office as long as the election is in the application phase but you have to have the correct oratory skill for your office.
During the Vote phase, you can select one combination of characters you want to vote for in the lower part of the dialog, then click the Send button. You vote for each character in the office he runs for. This is basically like transmitting four separate votes at once. You can vote only once per election cycle! Only the characters of your home district are shown in the drop down lists becasue you automatically vote for your home district.
During the legislation period you can resign from your office, if you hold one, anytime by clicking the Resign button in the top right corner.
If you hold an office, you will see your title in the name field of your character in the graphic window and also in the title bar of the client window.
This Tab gives you access to all the newspapers that are operated by players. The newspapers are operated according to their popularity for your convenience. That means that those newspapers that are read the most are at the top. The number in brackets is the number of days since the last article was printed in that newspaper. Double clicking a name brings up a browser window with the newspaper.
This Tab gives you a number of options for gang related activities.
The Tab is divided into two sides. The left side is for gang leaders or for characters who want to form their own gang, the right side is for gang members. You can learn more about gang activities in the gang section of the manual.
This section is for married couples. It leads to a dialog
that allows you to select one of your last names to be used for both partners
and also to perform a divorce. Obviously this tab is only available if you are
married.
When you are at a terminal, the Misc Tab will activate its Realtor button which gives you access to the real estate dialog where you can buy and sell houses.
