XP is the experience you earn by doing certain tasks. You save these XP while
you earn them and once you have enough XP to learn a new skill, you can spend
them on any skill you like. XP are not transferable which means that your
character has to earn them alone. You can check the XP you have earned so far in
the skill and urge dialog.

There are two fields for XP: Total and Unused XP. Total is the number of XP you have earned over your character's lifetime. This value will only rise, except when you do certain special actions. The Unused XP is a value that will go up and down. Whenever you earn XP both fields will go up. Once you spend some XP on learning a new skill, the Total value will stay the same, but the Unused value will go down because you just spend some XP. To learn more about how you learn a skill, look on the Skill site.
XP are also used in certain cult related actions, namely when sacrificing XP to the demon your gang is worshipping. When you do so, your Unused XP value will drop since you give some of the unused XP to a demon who receives soul points in exchange.
Also, when a demon sucks your life-force, this is done by removing Unused XP from you which gives him Souls in exchange.
XP is the more desired of the two values since XP must be earned by the character who intends to spend them, so there is no way that a more developed character can help a new one.
Money is more or less used just like in the real world. However there is no
tangible exchange. There are no gold coins or credit cards. You can see your
money in the skill window and this will be updated whenever you make money or
spend some. Your money account is always available so for example when you buy
from a vendotronic or trade with another character, you always have access to
your money, and nothing can be stolen. When you earn some money from slaying
NPCs or by any other means, that money is directly transferred to your account
and shown in the skill window.
