There are basically two ways to call for help and both are available from the Help Tab that is in the Common Section of the tab windows (Top Right) and you should understand the difference between them before you use them. None of them is for immediate help for example in a situation where you are attacked or so. They are both more like assistance calls.
This is a call to your fellow players. Every player online gets the message that you called for assistance together with your location. You should stay in the same room for a while to prevent other players from having to chase you. You can call for assistance when you have questions, when you are new and want to see if a player is willing to give you a tour and things like that. This feature is there to enable new players to get in contact with players willing to help out newbies.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS BUTTON IS TO BE USED IF YOU ARE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH GAME MECHANICS AND UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD IT BE USED TO SUMMON HELP IF YOU ARE PLACED IN A HOSTILE SITUATION THAT IS PART OF THE GAME.
Provided a friendly player shows up, you may reward him with "Newbie points" as a reward. This will give him some XP and thus making it worth the time to help you out. This will cost you nothing it's just a way to thank the other player and it's free for you. You do so by selecting the other character in your paperdoll and then click the Reward button. You can only reward three characters per day and not the same character twice.
This feature becomes unavailable once your account is no longer considered Young which is about one month after it was created. From then on you must rely on other sources of information, for example our Forum or IRC channel.
This is a serious matter and you should think twice before using it. A grief call is basically an accusation against another player regarding a breach of our Terms Of Service. A grief call, if sustained in an investigation, may even lead to the other players suspension. However, if you use this feature in vain, it may lead to your suspension, provided you do it repeatedly. We won't ban a player fro calling for help here if he acts in good faith, but we will take notes about who calls grief and against whom and how often. If there is a malicious pattern, we might ban the player abusing the grief feature. Don't call if you lost your death box, got stuck on an altar or need a door opened! Those kind of calls will be considered abusive and will be marked in your account!
When you issue a grief call you must select a topic from the list of possible reasons, then click the send button below the list. Your call will be send to the server and is received by any GM or counselor currently online. After a short while a staff member will appear and be ready to take your complaint.
This feature will remain available when your account looses the Young state.
