Prime Minister

The Primeminister is some sort of ceremonial overseer of London. He has only very few duties, but his job is very prestigious and gives some boost to the PM's social status.

The PM is one of the two officials who can perform marriages in game. The PM's other two important tasks are to schedule social events and to sell titles.

In order to be able to run for PM the character must have oratory 4 and he must be a member of London's Society (not underground)

Events

To schedule an event, the PM must stand next to a terminal, then bring up the Primeminister page on the terminal and press the Schedule Event button. This opens the following dialog:

On the left side, the PM can set the date and time. The time is always GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) so everybody who wants to attend should know the distance of his time zone to GMT. There are nice tools available here. The right list contains all eligible locations. These are bar locations in London that are in use. Then click the Schedule Event button and you are done.

Be careful however. Once an even is scheduled, it can't be changed!

The time to pick is a bit tricky. In order to keep too many events from being scheduled, the event must be at least 6 days after the last event held. On the other hand, it can not be scheduled farther into the future than 6 days to prevent the current PM from messing up the next PM's schedules. So, for example if the last event was on the 5th of the months, then the next event can be no sooner than the 11th. If you schedule an event on the 6th, you can chose between the 11th and the 12th because you can schedule no farther into the future than 6 days. If you plan an event on the 7th you can schedule for the 11th, 12th and 13th and so on.

Titles

Titles are something that many people crave. However, the PM can not sell titles like Duke or Prince. He can give away social titles however. There are two titles for members of London's society and two titles for members of the underground. In order to create a title deed, the PM uses the terminal just as above and brings up the Create Title dialog:

This dialog contains two titles each for Society male and female and Underground male and female. The titles make no technical difference, their only distinction is the text itself. The important thing is, to have a title.

However there are only a certain number of title slots available in London. The dialog shows the PM how many are still open. The PM however can create as many deeds as he wants. Those characters who activate their deeds first by double clicking it twice within 5 seconds, get the title. When all title slots are used, meaning as many characters as there are slots have a title, then no more characters can assume titles, regardless of their deed. The PM is absolutely capable of selling title deeds although there is no available title slot any more. This can be considered dishonesty, but that's up to him. The characters who bought the title deed and cant use them may react in an unfriendly way of course. Beware that the title deed disappears if a character tries to activate it and there is no title slot anymore.

Title slots become available when the titleholder dies, when his social ranking becomes so low that becomes a member of the lower class (scum) or when the player hasn't logged in for more than 7 days. The only character who has an overview about how many title slots are available is the PM. Once a slot becomes available it goes to the first character who activates a title deed.
