Elections

Elections are where all players can elect the government officials for the next period. An election period lasts one month and it is divided into 2 phases. The first phase is the application phase where everybody can file his application and run for office. This phase lasts 3 weeks. Then there is the voting phase where everybody can cast his votes. This phase lasts 1 week. How a player enters his election choices technically is explained in the terminal section.

In order to run for an office you must have the correct oratory skill:

Office Min Oratory
Primeminister 4
Judge 3
Prosecutor 2
Juror 1

To run for Primeminister you must also have the rank of Celebrity in London's Society, to run for judge you must be Citizen either in London's Society or un the Underworld Society.

The final votes are counted at the end of the voting phase and then the new officials are inaugurated. Please note that all PC guards are automatically disbanded when a new judge comes to power in a district. However there is one peculiarity that comes from the Social Ranking System.

When a member of London's Society Celebrity class runs in a high morality district or a member of the Underground's Kingpin class runs in a low morality district, he receives 20% more votes in his district from the NPC population. When a member of London's Society Citizen class runs in a high morality district or a member of the Underground's Citizen class runs in a low morality district, he receives 10% more votes in his district. These boni are only applied for district offices not for the Primeminister. The Social Ranking system can give an decisive advantage over another character and the right rank can mean victory or downfall, so keep a sharp eye on your rank.
