A character (or Toon, or PC for Player Character, or Avatar) has a number of internal values that determine how he reacts when interacting with other characters and in many other situations. These values can be divided into two big sections Abilities and Skills.
Abilities are values that are chosen when you create your character and these values are mostly fixed and can be changed only slowly, if at all. Skills on the other hand are trades that your character can learn during his life and which change the actions your character can do, the way he lives and the way other characters see him.
